Great Wall of...Japan?
A while ago someone mentioned a wall in Tokyo(?) that was littered with golden age Yakuza Eiga posters. I'm assuming this is that wall. Hell for all I know this could be in someone's john. Anyhoo, this chap took pics of those posters and has another video with more. I dig it, that's all that matters. Maybe someone else can provide the actual location.

According to the Youtube listing, the video was taken from a collection of posters in Toei's Nichigeki Theater Museum. I know that theater is located in Osaka and I assume that the museum is there too.
figures, i only saw boxes for writing. no translation SW here. I'm usually 40/60 on my assumptions anyway. thanks for the info. my mind isn't as strong as it used to be, but i'm not exaggerating when someone said there's wall on some street covered in YE poster cotton candy. oh well.
You can still see some of this sort of stuff in Tokyo, occasionally, though not to this extent. For instance, there's a wall with a bunch of posters (not all of them from yakuza eiga) under the Yurakucho JR tracks, outside a bunch of cheap yakitori shops, which adds to the ambiance. And you can find some posters on walls, or more frequently in izakaya and other restaurants, in the old-town areas of Ueno and Asakusa.
thanks for the info! if i were there i'd be looting those puppies off the wall. at least i can buy them on ebay like all the other mooks.
Gimmie dat.
To go along with what Mark said, there are also plenty of Showa (Showa was the era from 1926-1989) themed places all around Japan where you can see these sorts of posters up for nostalgia's sake. Two such places that I can recall offhand are the Ramen Museum in Yokohama and Showa Town in Oita-ken. Also, I'm sure you know, they still reproduce a lot of these posters for movies that still run. I have about six of them myself.
Mark? Who's Mark (box box box box box)?
i know what Showa is (Godzilla Geek - best of times, damn u heisei!)
just kidding.
thanks for the museum headsup. i've heard of such places - theme Samurai/kaiju/film parks etc. Sounds like geek heaven. which i would enjoy thoroughly.
i do have a few YE posters. the only one i truely want goes for 100 smacks (most sold on ebay go for $10), so typical, can't bring myself to spend that kind of loot for a poster.
